Who We Are
Our History
Established in 1973, Protec Dental Laboratories Ltd. has grown to become one of Canada’s leading full-service dental laboratories. Originally started as Severs Orthodontic Laboratories, offering appliances to dentists in Vancouver, Severs grew rapidly and eventually became Protec Orthodontic Laboratories. In 1996, Protec acquired Shaw Laboratories and became Protec Dental Laboratories Ltd, a full service dental laboratory, broadening their product range to include fixed and removable prosthetics, and implants.
Corporate Structure
Protec’s leadership team comprises Neal Russell CDT, President and General Manager, and three Managing Partners: Jeff Player CDT, Orthodontics Manager, Neil Appelbaum CDT, Removable and Fixed Prosthetics / Implants Manager, and Gerrit Van Schalkwyk CDT, Fixed Prosthetics / Implants Manager. Each department manager oversees the management, research and development, training, and quality control of their respective departments.
