Drs. Mahmoud Ektefaie and Ellen Park are dentists specializing in Endodontics and are members of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and the Canadian Academy of Endodontics (CAE). Together with their experienced staff, the doctors provide the highest standard of professional care to each patient.
By referring you to our office, your dentist has shown their concern that you receive the finest care in root canal therapy. We utilize the latest in technology such as CBCT (3D) digital imaging, dental microscopes, ultrasonics and fiber optics while performing root canal treatment. Our goal is to provide unsurpassed quality care backed by solid research in the field of endodontics and in a compassionate environment of professionalism and clinical excellence.

Dr. Ektefaie’s academic journey began at Capilano University (formerly know as Capilano College) in 1994. He then transferred to UBC where he received his BSc in 1999 and then continued on to the UBC Dentistry program, receiving his DMD degree in 2003. After three years of general practice in North Vancouver, he moved to Philadelphia where he received his certificate in Endodontics in 2008 and MSc in Oral Biology in 2009 from Temple University.
Dr. Ektefaie has been a Certified Specialist in Endodontics in Vancouver since 2009. Dr. E (as some patients prefer to call him) is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the International Association of Dental Traumatology, the British Columbia Society of Endodontists, the Canadian Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Ektefaie enjoys attending dental conferences and participating in continuing education courses in different fields of dentistry. Besides his desire for life-long learning, he gives back to the dental community by providing lectures to general dentists at the local study clubs. Dr. Ektefaie is a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC Faculty of Dentistry. He is currently teaching graduate-level courses in the department of Endodontics and he is also involved in the undergraduate endodontic training. In addition, Dr. Ektefaie serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and he also serves as an external reviewer for the peer-reviewed journal of Dental Traumatology.

Dr. Ektefaie loves nature and is proud to be a resident of the most beautiful city in the world for the past 20 years. He is also a big fan of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, being an avid soccer player and a District Referee himself.
Dr. Park was born and grew up in Toronto. She attended the University of Toronto, studying microbiology and receiving her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in 2002. She attended dental school at the University of Western Ontario, receiving her dental degree in 2006. She then completed a residency program in advanced general dentistry at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health to further her training and interests in restorative treatment. Dr. Park maintained a private practice in Toronto’s financial district and Vancouver for several years, before returning to graduate school to complete her three-year certificate in endodontics and a Master of Science degree in craniofacial science at the University of British Columbia, receiving the William W. Wood memorial scholarship. She has since published several scientific papers and invited reviews on various topics in endodontics, maintaining an interest in endodontic research.
Dr. Park has been teaching dentistry at the University of British Columbia since 2008 and has received two teaching awards from the faculty of dentistry. She currently teaches in the graduate endodontic division, and leads endodontic residents through clinical sessions and didactic sessions on endodontic microsurgery. She also provides endodontic services for patients at Vancouver General Hospital and helps to oversee endodontic clinics for the hospital residents as well.
Dr. Park is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a member of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, the American Association of Endodontists, the Canadian Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, and the BC Society of Endodontists. Dr. Park volunteers with the British Columbia Dental Association and the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, because her two favorite causes are mentorship and education. She loves cookbooks, yoga, and making jam.
