Who We Are

At Westmount Dental Centre, we understand your busy schedule. But we don’t want that busy schedule to prevent you from having the dental care that is essential to your good health. That’s why our office is centrally located in the Westmount Mall and offers extended hours 6 days a week! We make it easy for you to get to us on your schedule. While some professional offices flex their muscles, we believe in being flexible. Besides offering generous hours, we’ll gladly work with your dental insurance plan.

Dr. Andrea Oko

I grew up on acreage just outside Westlock, Alberta, where I attended R. F. Staples Secondary School. Growing up, I was active in figure skating and volleyball. Following high school graduation, I moved to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta, where I spent 11 years studying. 2001 began my study of immunology and infection, receiving a BSc with honours in 2005. Following this, I started an MSc in Cell Biology at the University of Alberta, studying the immune systems of catfish. In 2009, during my first year of study in dentistry at the University of Alberta, I completed my MSc.

I am very excited to practice at the Westmount Dental Centre. I pride myself on making patients comfortable and as relaxed as possible in the dental chair. I look forward to continuing my informal education throughout my career to allow me to introduce new and advanced techniques for my patients.

Dr. Alex Vial-Nadeau

I have graduated from dentistry in 1998 and went on to do a 2-year multidisciplinary residency program in a hospital setting. I had my own practice for 6 years and once I became a father decided to just concentrate on dentistry alone and not have to deal with administration work. I have worked in Quebec for 2 years then in the Northwest Territories for 10 years, and the last 3 years I have worked in Texas.

I am fortunate to do work that I enjoy doing. I am simple, easygoing and straightforward. If you want to be enabled with the knowledge to make an informed decision about your oral health, I would love to help you.

Dr. Julia Pestova

I have lived most of my life in Canada. I value that I bring my Russian-born heritage where I was exposed to the study of Visual Arts. I have completed a Kinesiology/Psychology Honours degree at York University in Toronto, Ontario, then moved to Edmonton where I studied dentistry at the University of Alberta.

I am very happy to join the Westmount Dental Centre team. I am looking forward to providing quality dental care in a patient-centred manner.

Dr. Shivani Verma

I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at New York University. Having also studied at the University of Alberta for a Bachelor of Science degree and India for a Bachelor of Dental Surgery has provided me a diverse multi-cultural education and experience.

I provide exceptional personalized care to all of my patients and I am devoted to enhancing your dental experience.

Dr. Nancy Coll

I studied dentistry at a French University in Montreal, Quebec. I graduated in 1999 as a Doctor in Dental Medicine. I spent the last 12 years working in the beautiful Northwest Territories. I strive to treat each patient with kindness and respect. I will help you to get the knowledge you need to make the best dental choice for you.

I am a down to earth, enthusiastic person and I love being a dentist. Helping others makes me feel good and my best reward is a happy patient who returns year after year to see me. I will do my best to enhance your dental experience and hope that you will give me the opportunity to be involved with your dental health.

Dr. Parveen Walia

I have travelled far, from Khanna, a small city in Punjab, India, known for its hardworking people, graduating 3rd in my class in 1997 from University of Nagpur to practice here in Westmount Dental since June 2012. After graduation, I was fortunate to study and work with some of the best orthodontists in India.

I opened my own office near my hometown and practiced there for 6 years. Here, I had a great opportunity to serve, providing advanced dentistry to rural communities. To serve my patients better, I developed the ability to listen to my patients’ concerns and problems with interest and empathy, and to explain things in simple language without using technical jargon wherever possible.

I have an interest in research and new techniques, which has taken me to study in Germany with Mr. Schleicher, who dedicated his lifetime to innovation in dentistry. I have studied in Milan, Italy, and throughout India, taking various hands-on courses.

I obtained a DDS from the University of Alberta foreign trained dentist program in May of 2012, becoming a member of the Alberta Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Sonu Walia

I moved to Canada from India in 2004 and joined the NAIT Denturist program in 2006. I graduated with honours and obtained my Denturist Diploma in 2009, licensing and registering with the College of Alberta Denturists. I have served the patients at Westmount Dental since that time.

This profession allows me to feel proud of working hard on my existing strengths, ability to concentrate and focus for long periods of time while paying attention to details.

Dr. Christ Shon

I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. After high school, I attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where I graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry in 2007. After college, I returned to study dentistry in Vancouver at UBC and graduated with a DMD in 2011.

I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry and have taken postgraduate courses in endodontics (root canals), periodontics (gum surgery) and restorative dentistry (fillings).
